With ancestral roots in Guilin, Guangxi, Shi was born on March 9, 1958, in Taiwan Province. In 1983, he started doing voice acting. In 1990, he provided the Mandarin voice for Stephen Chow in the movie “God of Gamblers” and became known to every household.
